We upgraded all of the toolset plugins to their latest version. Now our live site doesn't search properly.

Live site: Toolset Layouts 2.6.13
hidden link

Dev site: Toolset Layouts 2.6.8
hidden link

The Query Filter is missing this option:

Selected: Search for a text, set by the View shortcode attribute: search

Filter post content and title by a search term set by the View shortcode attribute: search. eg. [wpv-view name="Search Results Products" search="search term"]

I updated screenshots with the filters. DEV site has the filters, live does not.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

With recent updates for the Toolset Blocks and Views plugins, the query filter section is more closely tied together to the relevant field's search filters used in the 'Search and Pagination' section.

For example, if you've added a text search field in the view, you'll see a code for the front-end text search field in the 'Search and Pagination' section:

<div class="form-group">
	[wpv-filter-search-box output="bootstrap"]
</div>

And in the 'Query Filter' section, you'll see its non-editable filter with message 'Filter post content and title based on the frontend input search filter.'

This is not editable because in presence of the front-end search field, the view will always use what is searched through that field and not consider what is set as fixed value or through the shortcode attribute.

If you'll remove the code for the field from the 'Search and Pagination' section, you'll see a message to delete the post search filter from the query filter section.
( screenshot: hidden link )

After removing that, you'll be able to manually add the 'Post search' filter in the 'Query Filter' section using the 'Add a filter' button. This will present you the editable static options like setting a fixed search value or linking it with a shortcode attribute.

So, in short, you can either link the post search to the front-end search field or the shortcode attribute, but not both.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need further assistance.

regards,
Waqar
