[Resolved] Fields & Text Block: This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The user is experiencing an error message when using the Fields and Text block and trying to edit it: "This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed."

Solution:

The user was advised to update all Toolset plugins to the latest version. If the issue persisted, they were asked to switch to a default theme, deactivate all plugins except Toolset and its add-ons, and check if the issue could still be recreated. The user was informed that the development team was aware of the block-style panel issue, and the related problem with the Fields and Text block had already been fixed.

Tell us what you are trying to do?

Everytime I use the Fields and Text block and later try to edit it, I get this error message: This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

Hi there,

Would you please make sure that you use the latest version of Toolset and its addons?

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website.
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add new > Commercial (tab)".
- Click the "check for updates" button.
- Update Toolset and its addons there.

Thank you.

I have managed to update all the toolset plugins as suggested but the issue remains. It is now also happening when I try to style a toolset button.

Would you please provide the debug information so I can check your WordPress setup?

https://toolset.com/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Also I'd appreciate it if you could check if the broken text field block happens in an isolation.

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website, or better test it in a copy/staging version of your website.
- Switch to the default theme such as "TwentyTwenty" by going to "WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > themes".
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins" and deactivate all plugins except Toolset and its add-ons.
- Check if you can still recreate the issue.
- If not, re-activate your plugins one by one and check the issue each time to find out the plugin that causes the problem.

Finally, we are aware of the block-style panel issue and our developers are working on that:

The issue that you are describing is already fixed:

https://toolset.com/errata/fields-and-text-block-broken-with-wordpress-6-1-update/

That is why I ask to see if there is any other environmental issue might cause the problem.

Thanks.
