The previous issue was fixed by Theme author (SUGA theme). I am unable to get search results to show.
Is there any documentation that you are following? I watched all the documentation videos , many hours and am not getting something. These videos leaving out some important tasks for me with developing a template. Not sure. I do not know why page not showing. No videos on this template stuff. Not working after many months trying. I do not get what I am NOT doing.
Is there a similar example that we can see? A template or a connection issue - 12 months of effort - nothing similar to that?
What is the link to your site? BostonLawyers.com
Hi,
Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.
From your message, I understand that you're trying to use Toolset's search page archive but the results are not showing.
If that is correct, I'll need to see how this search archive and the theme are set up in the admin area. Can you please share temporary admin login details, along with the link that is not showing the results?
Note: Your next reply will be private and making a complete backup copy is recommended before sharing the access details.
regards,
Waqar
Thank you for sharing the access details.
From looking into the set up of these pages, it looks like some deeper-level theme compatibility issue is involved here.
Do I have your permission to download a clone/snapshot of the website, to investigate this on a different server?
yes you have my permission - and I have daily backups
Thank you for the permission and I've downloaded the website's clone.
I'll be performing some tests on this clone and will share the findings, as soon as this testing completes.
Thank you for your patience.
Just wanted to update you that I'm still working on this.
Will be able to share the detailed findings, by the end of the day today.
Thank you for waiting and here are my findings:
1. Archive page '/lawyers/':
The latest documentation videos are related to the workflows involving the WordPress blocks-based editor Gutenberg.
But on your website the 'Classic Editor' plugin is active, that is blocking the use of this Gutenberg editor.
If you'd like to continue using the blocks-based editor for editing views and the WordPress archives, as shown in our documentation tutorials, you can go to WP Admin -> Settings -> Writing and select 'Yes' for the option 'Allow users to switch editors'.
After this, you can go to WP Admin -> Toolset -> WordPress Archives and edit the archive 'lawyers' and will be editable correctly.
2. Single 'Lawyers' post page:
This post type is using the a content template 'Template for lawyers' which you can edit from WP Admin -> Toolset -> Content Templates.
Note: The way theme handles single post pages, the link that you'll see in the admin bar on the front-end for editing the content template won't be correct.
( screenshot: hidden link )
But the correct template will be used on the front-end for showing the content of this post type's single pages.
If you prefer to use the classic editor (instead of the blocks-based editor) for editing the content templates and the archives, you can select the option 'Show both the legacy and Blocks interface and let me choose which to use for each item I build' for the 'Editing Experience' at WP Admin -> Toolset -> Settings -> General.
The documentation on using the classic/legacy editor is available at:
https://toolset.com/documentation/legacy-features/views-plugin/
Let me know which editor type you'll prefer and if you need further assistance in setting up the layout that you're planning to have for these pages.
