Tell us what you are trying to do?
I have a custom post type called "Listing" in our Directory. We implemented users after 12 listings, I am first wondering if I can assign ownership of a custom post type to another user? The other admin and I are flagged as the owners. I want to assign it to the users so they can edit their own listings.

I then tried registering them as new users and recreating their listings (while logged in as them), however, when I am publishing (they are set to "Pending Review") them it appears to make me the owner again.

Can anyone help, please? If I can assign owners after a listing is created that would save me a load of time but right now it looks even if another user creates a listing, if I review it before publishing it, I become the owner it seems.

Is there any documentation that you are following?
I followed the custom setup in the documentation for directories.

What is the link to your site?

Thank you for your help in advance, this is my first directory website and it has been an interesting learning experience.

My issue is resolved now. Thank you!

I realized when I set up the post type, I never turned on Author as a drop-down to edit.

I realized I solved the first issue of changing the author of the post. However, how do I stop this when we are approving posts?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

I've performed some tests and couldn't reproduce this behavior. If as an administrator, I change a post in a "pending review" status to "published" the author of the post stays unchanged.

Can you please share temporary admin login details along with the exact steps that you're using to approve the posts?

Note: Your next reply will be private and please make a complete backup copy, before sharing the access details.

regards,
Waqar
