[Resolved] Custom fields content not updating after adding SSL

The Toolset Community Forum is closed, for technical support questions, please head on to our Toolset Professional Support (for paid clients), with any pre-sale or admin question please contact us here.

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
After SSL installation on the site causing mixed content errors (the now-secure site requesting non-secure assets/images/etc) for the custom fields content.

Solution:
1. Please ensure to redirect SSL files properly. I recommended this plugin for SSL setup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-ssl/

2. Now, before checking the Custom fields on front page, please clear all sort of caches in your site plugin cache (if any) / CDN cache (if any) / browser cache.
We have another client who had the similar issue and was also able to solve it:

Other way to reload the images in the Custom fields, is to manually re-add the images in the post.

I developed a site without an SSL certificate with many custom post types and custom fields. Some of the custom fields are image fields and were populated with images/urls.

I just installed an SSL certificate on the site and the only things that are causing mixed content errors(the now-secure site requesting non-secure assets/images/etc) are the custom fields content.

Instead of manually re-adding every custom field image, is there a way to update or refresh all content saved in these fields so that they are updated with the https?

Hi Noman,

I installed the plugin and cleared any caches, but the only thing that refreshed the images in the custom fields was to manually re-add each one on any posts using them. So, that worked and everything is good now, but I figured for future reference it'd be good to figure out in case I or someone else needed to add SSL and do the same thing.

Thanks for looking into it!
