I am trying to: Edit a custom field in visual editor, but the field is empty and no input possible - text ist working

I have problems with custom fields. Currently the editor is not working properly in firefox. Filled fields are displayed empty in the visual editor and no entries can be made. In the text field everything is visible and it works.

The problem occurs only in Firefox so far.

I deactivated all plugins for testing, activated default theme. No change.

Resetting Firefox also brings no change. There are no javascript errors in the console.

I can reproduce the problem on 3 PCs.

Is such a behavior known with the latest Firefox? Partly it works sometimes, but mostly not.

Good Post for looking: hidden link

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

Your observation is correct and there is an open issue in WordPress core related to this: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/52133

We expect this issue must be resolved before the Visual tab is working correctly, and I'll keep you updated through this ticket.

Meanwhile, the workaround can be to either use a browser like Chrome or keep the "Text" tab selected, which editing in Firefox.

regards,
Waqar
