Is there and existing guide to creating a searchable file repository?

#2369447

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

The Toolset plugins don't offer any built-in feature for a searchable file repository, so this will require a workaround.

For example, you can add a new custom post type "Files" and add any information like the actual file URL and file's metadata, using the custom fields for that post type.

By default, the text search in views only searches for the text in the post titles and the post's content/body. To extend this search to also search through custom fields, you can use a third-party plugin "Relevanssi":

We don't have a specific guide on this topic of creating a file repository, however, the general guide on creating a membership site will prove useful in controlling users' access to those files and their data:

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need any further assistance around this.

regards,
Waqar
