Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Toolset has limited integration with Beaver Builder. Here is the Doc that shows information about how you can use Toolset with Beaver Builder:

Can you please try to follow the above Doc and build your site accordingly.

So the only way is to use the block editor and your own template parts. I have to try, otherwise I will ask for a refund

No - you can use beaver builder but then you should not add Toolset blocks directly to Beaver Builder template but instead you should try to add Toolset content template (shortcode) inside Beaver Builder template.

I suggest best option for you to learn Toolset quickly and export its capabilities:

You can use http://www.discover-wp.com and use any of our reference site that is build on top using Toolset features.

This will allow you to create a test site or our free test platform: http://www.discover-wp.com
- https://discover-wp.com/site-templates/

In addition to that - if you want to install the any of our reference site on your local machine or server, you can use the framework installer plugin:

The framework installer plugin will allow you to install any reference site on your local machine or server that we offer on http://www.discover-wp.com. Once you install that - you can add your additional plugins like Beaver Builder etc..etc.. and play with it.

you can also try to follow any of the course we offer:
