Create homepage from Content Template (Single) and a static post page (archive)

Problem:

Design home page with content template.

Solution:

You can create a new page, and design it to want you want using content template, then use it as home page.

Tell us what you are trying to do? I've created Content Templates for my new custom-posts to replace the original single.php .. and now I'd like to use that page as the home page for my website.. how do I do this? When I go to Main Menu->Appearance I get the option of Home Page - Static Home Page + Posts Page.. I am bit confused.. I'd like to use the Content Templates(Single) I've created as the home page and the Content Templates (Archives) for the Posts Pages

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?hidden link (this is what I want as the home page)

Hello,

There isn't such a built-in feature, the option you mentioned above "Homepage", it supports only WordPress built-in post type "Pages", it does not support Toolset content templates or posts of custom post type.

So you might consider custom codes, for example below thread is talking about use a custom post as "Homepage":

Thanks for the update

This might sound too basic .. but then how do I use my Content Template for Single and Archives that I've created on Toolset?

Would I have to add a Menu or submenu and link them for the Single Pages? Please do let me know

And for the Archives Pages, what do I need to do? I don't even know how to find a permalink for those..;-)... Sorry for sounding too laymanish/newbie but I am really a bit lost here..

Dear Alim,

As I mentioned above, it is a limitation of WordPress core, it support pages only, in my opinion, you will need to consider to create a new page, and design it to want you want, then use it as home page.

For the archive page link, for example your custom post type is using slug "my-cpt", by default, the archive page of post type "my-cpt" should be: hidden link
