This is a follow up on a previously closed support topic.
The back story:
- Developed a site with some custom Toolset content views, custom posts, filters, etc. At migration to the clients server the Content Views return as blank. All the posts copied over, the page structures all copied over, but the Content View is just blank.
- Initially imported via All-In-One WordPress migration tool. After direction we tried the Duplicator plugin on a fresh installation with the same results. (confirmed same versions of WordPress, PHP, plugins, etc)
- I even tried recreating a new content view on the site and not relying on any migrated data, but yet the same result - the custom posts display, however the Content View does not.
In the intervening months since, the site has been hosted from a simple shared hosting service (apache, cPanel, self-hosted WordPress) and has run fine. In fact, it has been successfully migrated with All-In-One to another instal on the same kind of setup. The client wants to get it moved to "their" service under their IT guys, hence the push to find out why it won't run in their environment.
What this seems to points towards is that rather than it being a duplication issue, there is something about either the cloud based or managed WordPress hosting environments that is preventing functionality. Are there any known issues that could cause this type of issue?
Hello,
The problem you mentioned above is abnormal, I suggest you check these in your website:
1) Make sure you are using the latest version of Toolset plugins in the old websites, you can download them here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/
2) Follow our document to migrate your website to the new hosts:
https://toolset.com/faq/how-do-i-migrate-a-wordpress-site-from-one-domain-to-the-other/
3) check if there is any PHP/JS error in your website:
https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/debugging-sites-built-with-toolset/
4) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2020, and test again
I will turn on all the debugging modes as per the documentation, and perhaps we can see the difference between the two versions of the site.
Plugins up to date - Check. (did this prior)
Migration Protocol - Check. (the "suggested" way to migrate was one of several tried. All methods led to the exact same result)
Plugin & theme deactivation - Check. (had done this in initial troubleshooting)
The only variable at this point seems to be the host itself. The exact same backup file migrates properly on one type of host and not on the other. Hopefully the logs will reveal the difference between the two environments.
Did you get the PHP debug logs from new website? please share it, thanks
Not yet. I need to go through my clients IT department to get access, which will take a few days. I'll post them as soon as I can.
I have marked this thread as "Waiting for feedback" status, please update here when you need more assistance for it, thanks
