In a site for a small real estate agent I have two custom post types one for rental properties and one for available/sold properties. I have content templates for each that are applied to their respective single views.
However the single view for the available /sold properties has no effect on that post type. If i apply it to the other post type(rentals) it works- So i assume the template itself is fine. Ive bound and rebound it several times and it's selected correctly in the post's content template area . Im stumped

I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important. Could you please check now. You made mistake in one of the conditional statement where your forget to close the bracket and I've adjusted that and it seems now working.
Thanks so much Minesh- funny it worked on the other CPT but not that one.
There is one other issue there however- it appears almost like the template is getting appended to a default template- instead of replacing it. The content above where you inserted you name shouldnt be there. Also just noticed that even though featured image is turned on in the post setup the metabox doesnt appear
