I am trying to: I hired a Toolset Contractor to create a Single Product Content Template. As part of the template, there is a section called Event Extra where I could upload pictures and text.
When I duplicate a Product created using the Content Template, all the text and pictures are duplicated except for the Event Extra section. This is strange as all the data should be duplicated.

As you can see, everything images and text was duplicated except for the Event Optional that was created using Toolset - why s that?
Instead, I got: Not all the content was duplicated, the Event Optional Fields is missing when a Product is duplicated.

Well - do you mean that when you duplicate the product it just not duplicate the "Event Optional" repeating field group entries and you want to duplicate those repeating field entries when you duplicate product?
Please take a look at the links of the 2 products and screenshot that I shared. When you duplicate a product, everything copies over except for the Event Optional items - which I circled in the screenshot. This should also copy..why do I have to do it manually?
However, our Devs are also interested to add this feature in the near future but there is no ETA on it. At least its a good news that we are positive about this feature request.
What kind of reply is this? If you create a Content Template with fields using Toolset then it is a reasonable expectation that all the content be duplicated.
If it is all part of the Content Template then why is some of the content duplicated and other not? It looks more like a design flaw..It defeats the purpose of having a template if I have to do things manually.
I am not happy with your answer and will look to replace Toolset when I upgrade my website.
A content template is not the issue here, the thing is that when you duplicate product the Repeating field group entries are not duplicated (actually internally, Repeating field group entries are managed as one-to-many relationships).
I checked with Devs and this feature needs to be added so that when you duplicate post, the repeating field group entries also duplicated to duplicate post. I already added the feature request to our internal system and our Devs will do their best to add this feature.
For now, only custom fields duplicated as you confirm, so the content template is not the issue, you may see the issue due to the content template but actually, the issue is RFG entries are not duplicated and that is why you do not see with your content template.
If there is no feature added, simply it will not work and as I acknowledge that our Devs are positive to add this feature and you will find this in near future release.
I'm not a tech person. I only know that common sense there is reasonable expectation of all the content to be duplicated, including repeating field groups.
Fine if you will add this in the next version of your plugin.
Well - I do not have ETA on this if this feature will be added to next Types version or not as its totally dependent on our Devs predefined priorities. But what I can assure you that it will be added in the near future. I will update you here once this feature is added. Please feel free to close this ticket for now.
