Any news about the promised background image's size selection?

From May 2021, when speed and web vitals will play the most important ranking's role, it's imperative that we keep image sizes to a minimum.

It doesn't help if we invest money in image compression plugins, CDN, caching etc., if Toolset use automatically the full size image, even if the container has only 200px width/height 😉

Thanks for the details, I have checked it in our to-do list, it is still marked as a feature request, so there won't be any ETA for it.

And I have added this thread into it, hope it can raise attention.
