Hi,
I changed my WordPress Multisite Installation to SSL (via the Really Simple SSL Plugin).
Since everything is working fine there is a huge problem with my Toolset Views.
I have a view with Ajax filtering the result list. The list shows at first correct, but when I set a filter the spinner comes for infinitely. The result did not change. Before the SSL change everything is working fine.
If I deactivate Ajax and the page reloads after a click on a search button it also worked.
Pagination is the same problem with Ajax.
Please help!
Thanks a lot.

Hello,

First, you can setup wordpress installation to SSL without other plugins (Really Simple SSL Plugin).

Please check these in your website:
1) Dashboard-> Settings-> General
You just need to provide SSL URLs in below two options:
- WordPress Address (URL)
- Site Address (URL)

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate other plugins(including Really Simple SSL Plugin), and switch to wordpress default theme 2017, and test again

3) Enable PHP debug mode, and provide the PHP debug logs here, also check if there is any JS errors in your web page

PHP debug:

Javascript Debugging

4) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, also point out the problem page URL and view URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

Thanks for the details, I am downloading the file, will update here if there is anything found.

Thanks for the details, I can duplicate the problem with your duplicator, and have escalated it to our 2nd tier supporters, will update here if there is anything news.

Thanks a lot!

It is escalated to our 2nd tier supporters, here is an update:
There should be something in WPBakery preventing the View from updating its results.

I will keep updating here if there is any news.

Hi,
i have installed an old version (5.4.5) of WPBakery JS Composer and it now works!
So there is definitely a problem with the actual version (5.5.2.1).

#1098837

Thanks for the update, I have forwarded it to our 2nd tier supporters.

Here is the feedback from our 2nd tier supporters:
This is the specific template you need to delete OR manipulate as instructed:
Vorlage f├╝r Jobs
==> just remove that very hacked (f├╝r ) "title" (it should be the German Für and somehow became f├╝r and give it a normal alphanumeric title

Please test it and feedback if it is fixed or not, thanks

No, this changes nothing. I changed the title even though he was not broke at all in my installation (Screenshot).
I can replicate the problem:
- WP Bakery Page Builder 5.4.7 > everything works fine
- WP Bakery Page Builder 5.5 oder newer > Ajax filtering and pagination did not work.

Hi Dietrich, this is Beda, I am taking this over.

I debugged the issue reported in and (this should have been done earlier, but no one did) I found that this is neither a BUG; nor a replicable issue by most chance.

Instead, it is a Database corruption happening while migrating special characters to a new site.
Those, for example, the German Umlaute ä, ö, ü etc got converted into quite weird symbols.

The duplicate I received of this site so to debug it, is full of those now corrupted values.
The real quickest solution to make that View/Search work again is to simply trash these 2 content Templates:
Vorlage fur Jobs
Vorlage fur Jobs Daueranzeige

As soon those are deleted all works again.

Now, I am clear that you cannot just delete them, but what you can do is:
- Duplicate them to 2 new Content Templates
- Trash the old ones
- Doing so the GUI will ask you what CT to use on the old posts
- Choose the newly created (duplicate) of the original CTs

This solved the issue for me locally

In any case, you will have to resolve the database corruption that obviously happened here.
If you wish and have the data of BEFORE the migration, we could try to migrate the site to narrow down if there is an issue within Toolset, however, I suspect rather this is an issue with how the conversion/migration handled special characters.

Hi, thanks for your post.
Unfortunately, that does not work either. I have re-created the template (without special characters) and it is the same problem as before: With WP Balery Page Builder version 5.4.7 everything works, with the newest version (from 5.5) it does not work. Therefore, I do not understand why it has something to do with special characters, since it works perfect with the old version of the plugin.
Any broken special characters in your version of the database backup are, could also be due to the export with Duplicator?
I had already sent you an admin access to my WordPress installation. Does it help if you still have an FTP access or something else?
Then you can test themselves the old and the new plugin and see that it works once and once not. It is 100% replicable!
Thank you for more help

#1105362

Well, then this is another duplicate and not the same as your website, as those steps solve the issue locally.

Note, there is as well a Post with the corrupted title, maybe that as well needs to be updated.

Any broken special characters in your version of the database backup are, could also be due to the export with Duplicator?

Sure, but then why would it work locally recreating those?

On the access provided to me, I see in fact WAY fewer content templates than on the duplicate I received!
As well they seem not corrupt on your install.
(Have you edited those already, I assume.)

I also see this is a Multisite which is different from my local install

hidden link is a 404 - I cannot test the issue online.

This Page here seems to hold the view now?
hidden link

However, that view is not the same as I see locally.
It does not have any of the mentioned paginations, for example.

I can make the tests online if you allow.

I will need to trash the templates, and eventually make more tests, if that doesn't work.

Note that locally nothing else but fixing the corruption solves this issue.

If you allow, I can make the tests online after you outline where exactly I will have to check if it works, and I am allowed to edit the site in any way (I would suggest a good backup if this is a live site or better a testing site)

Then I can do this online.

I am not admin there, I cannot update the plugin.

However, I cannot work on a site that should not be broken.

I am downloading the package again and trying again.
