This is the community support forum for Types plugin, which is part of Toolset. Toolset is a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients and people who registered for Types community support can post in it.

I am trying to: figure out how to best set up geographies for a world-wide business directory. I need Country, State/Region, City with relationships.

1. Are there pre-built types/taxonomies for these?
2. If so, can you point me to where I can get them and how to import them.
3. If not, can you tell me where I can get documentation, if available to set this up.

I've built a couple of applications with Types and Views, but this project is a little more advanced. I'm still on the novice site of things... still learning. Any direction is appreciated.

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Unfortunately i'm not aware of any pre-existing cities database, so you will need to enter the cities manually.

You will need to create your taxonomies and for this you can just follow the instructions in the link below.

I would think this would be a common request, however. And would be a useful tool for folks using Toolset to set up directories.

I would agree this would be a common task. I am sure with all the bright people at wp-types, someone would have a module/option to automatically create and populate a DB with State/Cities for the US and/or the world.

Might need to look at hidden link.
