WordPress 4.0 ships today and all Toolset plugins are ready for this release. This release cycle for WordPress has been a pleasure. WordPress team provided beta version and release candidates ahead of time and clearly documented what’s changed in this release. We were able to update all Toolset plugins ahead of time.

Before you upgrade your sites to WordPress 4.0, make sure that you update all Toolset plugins. Previous versions had incompatibilities with WordPress 4.0 and all these were addressed in the current versions.

Also, we recommend that you make sure that your theme and other plugins are all updated for WordPress 4.0. If even one plugin has compatibility problems, it may effect your entire site.

If you need our help, we’re always here for you. Before you report problems, I recommend the following steps:

  1. Open the Javascript console (available in Firefox and Chrome) and see if you spot any Javascript errors
  2. Enable PHP error logging and see if there are errors there
  3. Disable plugins and see if problems are resolved

To get our support, go to the Toolset technical support forum. Include screenshots that show the problem. If you see Javascript or PHP errors, paste them.

Please include the term ‘WP 4.0’ in the title, so that we can prioritize and respond to these issues faster.

Before any update, we strongly recommend backing up your database. With a fresh database copy, you will be able to quickly revert, in case this update causes you any problem.

Happy WordPress upgrade!

  1. Hello Readers,

I’m having a problem with the Add Media Button: is doesn’t work after upgrading to WP4.0
I am using the latest WPtypes version.

    Is this a known issue?

    Kind regards,
    Marieke

  2. I would like to know if it is possible to create a design layout like this website: http://artik-design.ca
using Custom Post Types and Views.
    How can this be achieved?
If someone could please help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

    • Generally speaking, yes, it is possible. But Types and Views will help you to create the needed HTML output combined with your databases stored data like posts, custom posts, pages or display information stored in customer fields. It is your CSS that is responsible for how the site looks like. In Toolset package we also have the Layouts plugin – a plugin which help you to create whole layouts with drag and drop approach.
