Problem: I would like to create a rental property site that includes booking, calendars and reservations. Can this be accomplished with Types?
Solution: It might be possible to do something like this in Types with a substantial amount of custom code, but it's most likely more practical to look into a reservation booking plugin like WooCommerce Booking. The features you need will already be built.
Problem: I would like to allow new User signups with CRED, but I would like those new Users to be "pending" until an Admin approves them. If they try to login before approval, they should receive a message saying their account is pending approval.
Solution: The scenario you described isn't completely possible, but here's something similar you could accomplish with Access and CRED:
- Create a new custom role, something like "Pending Approval"
- Set up your CRED form to create Users in this role
- Use CRED notifications to send an email to the pending User to let them know you have received their request, but they must be approved before they are allowed full access.
- Use Access to show specific content to these Users when they log in to the site, and restrict all other content.
- To approve Users in wp-admin, switch them to whatever other role you want them to become.
- You could do something similar to decline their request, set them to some other role and use Access to show them some specific content that says you're not allowed to do this.
Problem: I have a custom archive view that displays simply the featured thumbnail and post title with link. It works fine except that the title of the latest post is included above the view.
Solution: Disable any other plugins and switch to a default theme like Twenty Seventeen. If the problem is resolved, activate your theme and plugins one by one until the conflict is revealed.
