Problem: I have Jobs and Companies custom post types. In the Jobs post type, I have a repeatable field group (RFG). Companies and Jobs are in a one-to-many post relationship, where Company is the parent and Job is the child. On the Company template, I would like to display the RFG from related Jobs posts.
Solution: You can use a nested View structure to achieve this.
- Create a View of the RFG, filtered by RFG owner Job, where the owner Job is set by the current post in the loop.
- In the Loop, display the information from the RFG.
- Next create a View of Jobs filtered by post relationship, where the parent Company is set by the current post or current page being displayed.
- In the Loop of the View of Jobs, insert the View of RFG you just created.
- Insert the View of Jobs in the template for Company posts.
Problem: I am using Views to output an ordered list with a nested unordered list. I would like to change the color of the number output by the ordered list.
Solution: Add this CSS to style the bullet (and everything else in the list item):
.wpv-loop > li {
color: #ee7823;
}
Then if you want to change the text color for the nested list, you must override the text color to be dark gray again for those elements:
Problem:
Sometimes Custom Fields or other data is empty, and the shortcodes displaying it will of course not output any data.
However wrapping HTML, or labels or any other content we add around those ShortCodes will still be output when the field is empty.
How can we avoid that?
Solution:
You can use HTML conditionals.

You can insert those conditions with the "Conditional Output" or "if" button, here is a short example showing a field's content if it's saved, or "nothing", if there is nothing saved for that field:
Problem:
When inserting a Multiple Lines Field in a Content Template, Post or View loop, it seems that it automatically wraps it's contents in a paragraph, provoking a line break after and before it's content.
How can we avoid this?
Solution:
Multiple Lines come by default with HTML ready content wrapped in a minimal tag which is the Paragraph.
You can avoid that paragraph by telling the ShortCode to return RAW values as saved in the database.
This will still execute the HTML inside the Multiple Lines Field if you added any, but it won't add the wrapping Paragraph.
