I have found this thread here https://toolset.com/forums/topic/yoast-seo-problem-with-new-versions-of-yoast/ and I seem to understand that Yoast made such drastic changes to the plugin that it does not work with toolset.

Is this still true?

All yoast sees is this.

{!{wpv-post-title}!} Silver Coast {!{types field='guests'}!}{!{/types}!}  {!{wpv-post-title}!}  Silver Coast  {!{types field='guests'}!}{!{/types}!} Prices More information Terms Book now Please Note {!{types field='warning-note'}!}{!{/types}!} Please Note {!{types field='warning-note'}!}

I am not using a content template on this website I am using a layout for each post as the owner is complicated and has many variations. Would a content template stop this problem?

Thank you in advance

It's a problem that does not have an easy solution right now, unfortunately. I'm afraid that the results will be similar for Content Templates and Layouts, so switching will not make much of a difference for you. The best solution right now is to use the Yoast panel in each post editor to define the Yoast meta strings manually.

FYI...
It seems to work fine with content templates, one of my other sites is giving a correct word count.
