I am trying to:

I'm copy and paste some text with hyperlinks to a custom post field and the post content doesn't save. However if you switch to the plain text tab, the post saves just fine. But since my data have hyperlinks that option is useless at the moment.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
hidden link

I expected to see:
Saved post data

Instead, I got:
Nothing

Note: My workaround, was to enable the default editor on the post type and it fixes the issue, however, I need to remove that box sooner than later since it cause confusion in the backend.

Hi Alisha,

Thank you for getting in touch.

This is actually a known issue and we have an errata page setup to explain in a bit more detail.
https://toolset.com/errata/visual-tab-of-wysiwyg-fields-may-not-initialize-correctly-appear-not-to-save-data/

There isn't much we can do in terms of resolution as it seems to be an issue with wordpress core.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

The thing is that I have other custom field without the editor enable with a WYSIWYG and it is working just fine.

Please see the screenshot.

Thanks.

Hi Alisha,

It is still related.

However can you let me know if the pages where the WYSIWYG editor isn't enabled, do you have the wordpress default editor enabled on that page?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane
