[Resolved] White screen in content templates

This support ticket is created 4 years, 7 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

I am trying to: Edit a content template

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: NA

I expected to see: I built the content template using WPBakery but now when I try and edit the template I get a blank screen. This started happening with the latest update to 3.3.10

Error I'm seeing when I inspect the page:

Hi Darren

Thank you for getting in touch. I checked your debug data and saw that you are using an older version of the wpBakery Plugin. Specifically version 5.4.7

What I would like for you to do is to update to the latest version of the page builder as depicted in their changelogs below.

This is probably related. On the main settings screen, I CAN NOT save WPBakery Page Builder as the editor for content templates. I can choose that radio selection and the plugin saves it, but when I refresh the page, Classic Editor is selected. See image.

Hi Darren,

This is a known issue that i'm working on with another client.

What I want for you to do is to update to the Latest version of the wpBakery plugin and then try again to see if you are still getting the white screen.

Thank you for performing the update.
Given that the issue still remains.

I would like for you to provide me with admin access to the website so that I can grab a copy that I can restore locally here.

This copy will allow me to investigate and possibly report the issue if needed .

I'm unable to grab a copy of the site as the tool is presenting errors while trying to get it.

Is it ok to test on this site ? I would be disabling all the non-toolset plugins and switching theme etc.

No. Please don't do that.

This is a staging server and I have projects I'm working on there.

Are there any other options for figuring out what might be going on?

Hi Darren,

I won't really be able to anything without being able to grab a copy of the site.

I've tested this on a fresh install and from what I can see the content template loads fine on my test site with the wpBakery plugin installed.

I would definitely need a copy to debug further or even submit to our 2nd tier supporters because they will also need to do their checks on this issue in order to escalate to our development team.

If you're able to setup a copy where we can do our testing that would also be fine but this copy must also have the issue there.

Ok Shane.

Let me figure out what needs to be done to the site in order to save my work. I'll be back as soon as I can so we can continue trying to figure this out.

Looks like it's a conflict of All In One SEO Pack. I deactivated it and the problem went away. However, I CANNOT disable this plugin on the main site.

Can you offer any guidance on this?

Please continue to test because I'd like to see an outcome but I've switched over to Yoast SEO to be able to make the changes need to my content templates.

I can confirm that the issue does occur on a fresh install and will be escalating this to our 2nd tier support for further debugging.
