Which image sizes do I need to store

This support ticket is created 5 years, 4 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Sorry if this is a stupid question!

I use the Avada theme but it creates a LOT of different image sizes when an image is uploaded.

I'd like to cut down on storage space if possible.

I am moving away from using the Avada image sizes (like portfolio etc). If I just want to use the Toolset sizes thumbnail, medium, large and full, which ones do I need to have Avada create? Then I can stop it creating all the others!

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

I believe this is a more related question for Avada as if I may say that you can use the full size I do not know how Avada works with images and how they querying internally within the theme.

I see few articles here related to image optimizations related to Avada:

I think Avada would guide you better in this case and point out correctly how you can use and store images so that the theme will not get broken. Would you mind to contact theme first?
