[Resolved] What is the new field slug

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Hello,
Since 1 month when i create a new type, there is a new field slug in my type, like in my picture, i don't know what is it for and if it is toolset thing or WordPress thing ?

Good question! I noticed that myself a while ago, but never looked into it.

At the top of a post edit screen there is an expandable section "Screen Options" where you can control which meta boxes are visible on the page and which not.

It seems that at some point the slug (which is normally the post title in a URL-friendly format, e.g. "Hello World!" becomes hello-world) has been enabled by default, where it used not to be.

You can uncheck the slug option and that setting will remembered when editing other posts of that type.

I've asked my colleagues to check the reason this became checked by default and to see if we can change that (I don't know whether it originates in Types or in WordPress itself).
