Hi there
I just tried this on my local test site and it worked okay (although I'm using the WP Bakery version of Visual Composer, though there are functionally almost the same).
You should be able to see in the screenshot that I'm inserting a Post Masonry Grid module, where you specify which post type should be shown ("Projects" in my test site).
On your site did you specify the post type the same way?
