I want to filter my View by one of two custom fields, but when I add them in, the dropdown for choosing AND/OR has gone! Please can this useful feature be added back in?

See my screenshot showing how it's missing.

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you for getting in touch.

This is actually a known issue and workarounds for this exists.

You can find one of the workarounds at the link below.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,

Hi Shane

Thanks for getting back to me. I was wondering why the AND/OR dropdown used to be there, and now it's not? Toolset is marketed as being for non-programmers, so a feature that used to exist as part of the GUI used to create a View should surely still be there.
The code workaround is fine, but if I came back to a project after a while and looked at the View, I would see it saying 'AND', and might not remember that I'd added a piece of code to functions.php that changes it to 'OR'.

I really hope Toolset rethink adding this functionality back in properly in the future.

Alex

Hi Alex,

This was actually removed by our developers some time ago. The exact reason was never given but it was thought to believe that the search is performed by an OR and the only way to get the AND is by using the custom code that was provided.

I understand your recommendation. However what you can do is to add the code to the Toolset Custom code settings at Toolset -> Settings -> Custom Code and this should help to keep the custom codes organised as this is one of the first places we as support would check if a view isn't working as expect.

Thanks,
Shane
