Can a 'Custom Field Name' and 'Types Name' be shared between multiple groups?

Yes, this is possible. You can control the custom field from:
=> Types => Custom field control

To add it to different group:
=> select your field
=> From multiple action drop-down at top left, select "Add to group"
=> Click on Apply button
=> Select your group/groups to assign field to different group/groups

Thanks! I knew that the 'types name' couldn't be the same, but wasn't sure if one belonging to multiple groups would cause an issue. Appreciate the feedback!
