Tell us what you are trying to do?

Hi, I do not use the "new" WordPress Gutenberg editor in my work, but I am using the ThriveThemes Page builder, especially the Shape-shifter component a lot. The normal way everything was supposed to work is that I would create "views" with the "views plugin" and just call all the elements I have built via its short code what can be done easily within a theme builder too.

But since it seems all the good new features are for "Blocks" now, I need a way to build the elements I need there and get a short code.

I just want to be able to use the new features and Toolset product iteration within my own templates or a not supported Page builder that can execute short codes.

Is there still a way to use Blocks as a layout / view creator and to use these kinds of elements in my own layouts then instead by calling them via Short codes? Or to use the "Blocks" in the "Views plugin" to create them as I am used to?

Or if there is a general way to go regarding the current Toolset version for developers who don't want to use the Gutenberg Editor in their normal workflow which are quite a few I think 🙂

I found no direct advices. Or maybe I looked in the wrong place because I would have guessed there will be tutorials for this problem.

Thanks a lot!

Kind regards
Dennis

Hello, if you're using the Toolset Blocks plugin but would like to access the legacy Views editor experience, you can enable it in wp-admin > Toolset > Settings > General tab. Find the "Editing experience" setting and choose the option that enables both the legacy and blocks editing experience. This will reactivate the main "Views" menu item in the Toolset menu, and give you the ability to create and manage Views from wp-admin > Toolset > Views. You'll still have the Blocks Editor available for designing posts and templates, but you'll also have the ability to create Views independently of the Blocks Editor.

Then you can insert the Views created in Toolset > Views in another 3rd-party system using the legacy Views shortcodes. Will this work for your needs, or have I misunderstood what you want to accomplish?
