I am trying to: use Relevanssi to add a custom fields text search alongside a parametric search.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link
although the problem is on the Views editing page, under the Filter Editor

I expected to see: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/searching-texts-custom-fields-views-relevanssi/ ... that page says that once I've installed and configured Relevanssi, I should have a third option when adding a Text search ... "Title, body and custom fields" but I don't.

Instead, I got:

Dear Carlos

It is a known bug, our developers are working on it, currently you can try this:
a) install and activate Types plugin
b) Follow our document to setup the Types custom fields and Relevanssi settings
c) Create a view, in section "Filter Editor", Click the Text search button, choose option "Post content and title", then there is a new filter added in the "Query Filter" section:
Filter post content and title by a text search that will be added manually using the shortcode [wpv-filter-search-box].
d) Edit above filter, you will be able to see the option "Title, body and custom fields", see screenshot:

Hello Luo-

I've followed your steps, but am not seeing the "Title, body and custom fields" option when I click the Edit filter button (it took me a while to realize I had to position the insertion point inside the shortcode for the Edit filter button to do anything.

One thing I noticed is that the shortcode is the same regardless of whether i choose Title only or Title and body. I don't know if that's related to this at all.

If I could ask another question... on this site I have a user role called Presenters, which are the authors of the workshops. Is there any way to add a search field on the Presenters Listing page

hidden link

to search for a specific user/presenter?

Thanks again.

I just double checked it in my localhost, and the option "Title, body and custom fields" option does exists in the "Post search filter", please try this:
1) deactivate other plugins and switch to wordpress default theme, and test again
2) If the problem still persists, please provide a test site with same problem, and fill below private detail box with login details, also point out the view URL. I need a live website to test and debug, thanks

Thanks for the details, I tried these in your website,
1) Edit the view "Workshop Listing with Filters"
hidden link

2) click "Screen Options", enable option "Query Filter",
in section "Query Filter", edit the "Post search filter", I can see the option "Title, body and custom fields", see screenshot fields-option.JPG, can you confirm it? thanks

Hi Luo--

That worked! I was trying to do this in the Filter Editor, not in the Query Filter section. I didn't know it was there. Thank you for your help on this.

A couple of posts back, I had asked a second question -- about doing a search on Users (which are Presenters on this website). Can I continue that in this thread, or should I open a new one?

Thanks,

#557573

Please open a new thread for the new question, that will help other users to find the answers. thanks

#557576

I will do that in the morning.

Thanks again for your help.
