Hey,
I have the exact same problem as in this thread:

https://toolset.com/forums/topic/user-password-is-replaced-with-lost-password-link/

the solution there was a hotfix:

https://toolset.com/errata/user-password-placeholder-displays-wrong-information-subscription-notification/

but the paths for implementing the hotfix are outdated:

UserForm.php file in /plugins/cred-frontend-editor/embedded/models/ folder.
Form_Builder_Helper.php file in /plugins/cred-frontend-editor/embedded/classes/ folder.

there is no "embedded" folder anywhere, and inside the "application/models" folder i couldn't find the correct file to replace.

also, altogether, the "autogenerate password" option is missing from the cred form.

thanks!
ido

Dear ido,

The errata link you mentioned above has been marked as "resolved" in CRED plugin 1.8.1, which is an old version, and you are using the latest version of CRED plugin 1.9.2, so it is not needed to apply the hot-fix of the errata, it should have already been fixed in the latest version of CRED plugin 1.9.2.

Since you are using 20+ plugins and custom theme in your website, in case there is any compatibility problem, please try this:
1) deactivate other plugins and switch to wordpress default theme, and test again
2) If the problem still persists, please provide a database dump file (ZIP file) of your website in below private detail box, also point out the problem CRED form URL, and page URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

hey,
i'm using avada theme, not too many plugins.

here's the form for example:

hidden link

you need to insert your required user name, press the black button, and you are moved to the checkout form. you can purchase something - it's on "cheques" option, which means you don't have to pay anything, i just need to approve your order and then you're supposed to get the user name and auto generated password to your email.

please allow private box so i can upload db dump.
thanks.

hey - Any news?
i must say there are a lot of problems with cred.
it originally sent the password field wrong - now it never even saves the notification.
and in a post form - it fails to upload featured image. i saw a hotfix and tried it - it still isn't working.
thanks!

update: i degraded to wordpress 4.8 and disabled "autogenerate password" in the user auto generated form. now everything is fine.
