When I upload the embedded fields with the URL and then change the field to image it works for the Image Slider.
See: hidden link
But when I want to add more I have to change it to an embedded field because I get the message 'you can add only image'
Attached an image field with the url's of the images.
So it seems possible, but now I get the error message with an image field. Is there a solution other than switching all the time between embedded and image field?
Also the reason for this error regarding the message 'you can add only image' is that the images will need to be uploaded to your wordpress site and using links for images from another location won't work if you're uploading new images.
This is a limitation that we are working with and currently there isn't any solution for this one.
No this cannot be turned off a this image field is meant for files to be uploaded not the pasting of an image URL to it.
Your specific use case isn't accounted for in how our fields are designed to work. Essentially you want to build the gallery slider with images from an external URL inside an embedded field which isn't supported by the gallery block.
The best solution for your scenario is to build the gallery slider with custom code as our blocks use cases don't support what you're trying to achieve.
But it's much easier when I can upload the url in the image field.
Can't this notification be turned off?
Unfortunately no it cannot be because the image field is an upload field.
Okay then the best solution is to build the gallery slider with custom code.
I want to use the embedded fields 'Meerdere afbeeldingen' to upload the url's.
It is possible, just not with using the image blocks or gallery blocks as these blocks will only detect fields that are image fields.
The main issue with your setup is that you're not uploading the images to your site but rather linking to external images which is out of the use case for these fields.
The only option thats available is to use custom code to get the desired results. If you're using the embedded field then you will need to use some custom code to create the masonry type gallery that you want.
I wouldn't be able to do it given that this would be out of the scope of our support forum.
My recommendation is that you contact one of the contractors that are registered on our site to get this done for you. https://toolset.com/contractors/
