I've just upgraded to Toolset 3.4 beta1
I'm upgrading the database, but it says it's going to take 6880 hours to Migrate associations. Is there a faster method to go about doing this?

I have over a hundred thousand associations on the site.

Hi Matthew,

Before starting this investigation, I'll need to clear a few points:

1. Can you please confirm which version of the Toolset plugins website had before this update?

2. Also are these associations from the legacy post-relationship feature or are they the newer associations introduced in Toolset Types 3.0?

3. When you say the "migration started from the beginning" it means that the batches of the same IDs were processed again?

Hey Waqar,

Thank you for looking into this.

1. I'm on Toolset Types Version 3.4-beta1
2. The associations were created using the (new?) Relationships section under Toolset in the left hand side menu. They were all created over the last three or so months, so I'm assuming with the new system.
3. Yes, batches of the same IDs are processed again each time the page is refreshed.

Do let me know if you require any other information.

I've heard back from the development team and they've some ideas to significantly improve this migration process.

They'll be testing it on their own and would like to know if this website of yours is a staging/test website and if you'd also like to test this solution on it?
( we're assuming that it is not a production website since you updated to the Beta plugin )

Hey Waqar,

Thanks for your message. The upgrade finished itself after several hours. The time estimation is way off. It said about 6000 hours, but it only took about 6 hours in the end.

Kind regards,

Thanks for the update and glad that it finished in much less time.

I'll pass on this information to the development team and it will surely help in improving this process, going forward.

You're welcome to mark this ticket as resolved and for a new question or concern, you can start a new ticket.

Have a nice weekend!
