We created this website in 2016 and it was never updated. It now turns out that toolset types is no longer compatible with the current WordPress 6.2.1. The WordPress editor now only works with Tool Types disabled. We are planning to update Toolset Types hoping this will fix the problem but we are also worried that the shortcodes will no longer function. Are shortcodes made in Toolset back in 2016 still compatible with the current version?
Kind regards
Dirk
Hi Dirk,
I am not aware of any deprecated shortcodes in Toolset. You will need to update all Toolset plugins using the manual method below:
- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Make sure you are signed in toolset.com.
- Go to https://toolset.com/account/downloads/
- Click the "Download Toolset manually" link to show the rest of the plugins on the page.
- Download the latest version of the WPML and its add-ons.
- Upload/activate Toolset plugins on your website manually.
As a reference, you can check the shortcodes you have with the ones that are supported here:
https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/views/views-shortcodes/
https://toolset.com/documentation/customizing-sites-using-php/functions/
https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/cred-api/
It is important that you have a backup of your website, or copy your website to a staging server and do the updates there first.
Thanks 😊 .
