[Resolved] Under the “Post Types” tab of Access Control, I don’t see any checkbox options

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I am unable to use the Access Control screen to set permissions for my custom post types.

Solution: Temporarily disable Progress Maps plugin to eliminate the compatibility issue, then reactivate Progress Maps once you're set up.

I am trying to adjust who can view content for some of my custom post types.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

I expected to see a list of roles with permissions for each role under post types managed by access.

Instead, I got only a list of post types and whether they are managed by access or not. Only one of my custom post types displays the checkbox options for roles.

Hi, the screenshot you provided doesn't look like the standard Access post type settings screen. The standard settings screen should be found in Toolset > Access Control, at a url like

yoursite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=types_access&tab=post-type

I'm attaching a screenshot showing what it should look like - each post type should appear in a list, separated by some white space. You should be able to click each post type to expand a hidden section containing its role-based permissions settings.

If you're not seeing the same screen, and you're not able to click the name of the post type to expand it, then there's probably a conflict between your theme or other plugins and Toolset. As a test, please temporarily disable your theme and all plugins except Toolset. Then activate a default theme like Twenty Seventeen. If you need to use a plugin like Maintenance Mode to hide your site while you're running this test, that's okay.

If the screen begins to function correctly, reactivate your theme and plugins one by one until the conflict is revealed.

If the screen does not begin to function correctly, then I may need to do some additional investigation. Let me know the results and we can go from there.

Thank you Christian. Since I've been using Toolset with this theme for a while, I figured it must be a plugin that I recently installed called "Progress Maps." Sure enough, that was the problem. Thanks for your suggestions. I often forget that the problem can be a conflict with a theme or a plugin, and your response reminded me to look into that.

Cheers!
