[Resolved] Unable to tick and untick certain boxes in Toolset Access Control

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: Toolset Access settings checkboxes are not working correctly.

Solution: Update to the latest version of Toolset plugins.

This support ticket is created 4 years ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Dear Support

I am having issues with Toolset Access. It is blocking me from selecting some boxes and I cannot find the reason behind it.

I created a new role called "Lapsed Family" and wanted to set some permissions for it Toolset Access.

Under Toolset > Custom Fields > Custom Family User Fields Group > Settings for Custom Family User Fields Group, I have already allowed the Lapsed Family to use those custom Family fields.

Specifically, under Toolset > Access Control > Toolset Forms > User Forms Front-end Access Group, I want to allow role Lapsed Family to
1 Edit Own User with the Form "User Form - Edit Family"
2 Edit Own User with the Form "User Form - Change Password"
but the boxes are blocked and cannot be selected.

Similarly, under Toolset > Access Control > Toolset Forms > Post Forms Front-end Access Group, I want to allow role Lapsed Family to
1 Edit Own Custom Post with the Form "Post Form - Edit Job Ad"
2 Delete Own Posts using Toolset Forms
but it won't allow me, however it did allow me to select the box for Create Custom Post with the Form "Post Form - New Job Ad".

I have also noticed that I cannot "untick" certain boxes for the role "Subscribed Family" (I don't need to right now, but should be able to if I want to.)

Where are these restrictions coming from and how can I lift them?

Hello, our developers are investigating this issue and are planning to release a hotfix for Access very soon. In the meantime, it may be necessary to downgrade to a previous version to use checkboxes in the Access Controls area. Sorry for the inconvenience here, this issue was introduced in the most recent updates related to compatibility with WP 5.6.

We are in the process of pushing this hotfix release now. If you are not prompted to update automatically in wp-admin yet, you can go to wp-admin > Plugins > Add New, click the Commercial tab, and then click "Check for updates" in the Toolset installer area. Let me know if the latest round of updates do not resolve the issue, and I can take a closer look.
