Hi - This site development has a custom template for woocommerce Product posts but the homepage does not.

Can you please tell me if I need to follow Toolset Views or wommerce Views to display the homepage as this page will not feature any product offers.

Also, if the Product pages are using the products post type in woocommerce and there are no other pst types registered in the Toolset dashboard, do I need to link the homepage to anything in Toolset or is it just set in the wp-admin as the static homepage?

Hi Charles,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

You will need to follow the instructions for Toolset Views for your homepage.

"do I need to link the homepage to anything in Toolset " are you referring to making the homepage display using views?

Please let me know .

Thanks,
Shane

Thank you for the great information that you provided on the other issues. I think there is a misunderstanding regarding my question about the Homepage. Please keep mind that I am using Divi Builder and Toolset plugins integrated with woocommerce.

Your support suggested that because I want to sell the artwork from the site, I needed to integrate woocommerce which mandates the use of the "Product" post type instead of adding unique Post Types to the Toolset dashboard that I can associate custom fields with.

Because the Homepage is just a regular page on the website, I don't need to have product content on it so instead, what is the exact workflow or instructions for adding custom fields to the static Homepage to display the content shown in the first screenshot?

If I must use woocommerce fields, is there a way I can add a few of my own so they are available from the shortcode selector?

Hi Charles,

If your homepage is going to be a regular page then you can just use a content template in our Views plugin to design the output.

The Woocommerce views only comes into play when you want to customize how the products are being displayed.

To allow for the custom fields to be on the homepage you need to create a custom field group and set the group display to apply to the Pages CPT. See Screenshot

For the use of content templates please take a look at the link below.

Please let me know if there are any further queries on this.
Thanks,
Shane
