Last time I updated the website registered with Dropbox everything was fine. However yesterday I noticed that all custom posts ("articles") disappeared from the website. I went to check WordPress and the custom posts have disappeared from the WordPress tab. I think they were under pages. I don't know what happened and I'd like to restore everything as it was. This might be due to some automatic WordPress update (5.6.2), but I am not sure.

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

I suspect that the custom post definition was lost, and I can't tell what was the cause of that. Maybe a compatibility conflict or data inconsistency.

Please check if this issue appears when:
- Only Toolset plugins are activated. It will tell us if there is an interaction issue with another plugin.
- The theme is set to a WordPress default like Twenty-Twenty. It will tell us if there is an interaction issue with your theme.
If the problem disappears, start activating one at a time to track where the incompatibility is produced.

If that does not help, I'll suggest, that you recreate the custom post type, using the same slug. I assume the slug was "articles" or " article". That may recover all the posts from that custom post type.

Otherwise, the data inconsistency is probably not recoverable, you will need to restore a working backup. Before restoring the backup, I would like to take a copy of your website and check it locally, maybe the data is still on the database, and there is a chance to recover the post type.
