[Resolved] Toolset Starter Theme spilling logs

Our website has crashed. The host has reported this problem with Toolset Starter Theme :

Your theme is spilling logs into the PHP log file with this error ``Warning: readdir() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /wp-content/themes/toolset-starter/functions.php on line 193``

Please advise. Cannot even access wp-admin the provide debug info.

Hi Eugene,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

There must be something else wrong here. This is just a php warning and should not cause an error 500.

Could you asking your hosting provider to check to see if there are any fatal errors in your php logs?

I contacted the host. This is their reply :

This is the complete error message that is appearing. We do believe this is in fact the error that is causing the site to 500. It may be a warning, but it's happening multiple times a second- we lost count at 30per second with many more to still count.

It appears it cuts short as another error occurs before the server can completely record the error itself.
If you'd like to take a peak, you can download the entire error logs via the site's advanced tab to have your developers take a peak.

Hi Eugene,

Could you download your theme through FTP and delete the one that is on the site and see if the issue still occurs ?

The host was able to disable the theme and the site worked (although it looked terrible with a default WP theme)

Then I tried to update the Toolset Starter theme and activate it. The site crashed again. I can't get into the site or wp-admin.

Hi Eugene,

I would recommend moving away from using our Toolset Starter theme as this theme has been deprecated and will no longer be supported.

So I wouldn't be able to get the developers to provide a fix for this.

The best thing to do is to switch to a new theme. You can take a look at our recommended themes as one of them should work well as a substitute for you.
