Hi there
For several reasons I have not been able to move forward much on the development of a sailing club website idea in recent months. I volunteered myself to do this and am now wanting to get the idea moving again, I’m sure something I have done is causing the problem I have, I should add the site uses the Divi Theme.

I created the Post Type ‘Vessels Info’, custom field group and Template for it. We are a DIY type club and everything is done by volunteers so the information I want to show needs to be searchable by the Vessels Name and the Owners Name.

If you click on the search icon in the menu area and type in for example mare lutra , the result is you see the name of the vessel and by clicking it the template shows up. We have a couple of boats with the same name, for example Merlin, so this is probably a good idea as one of them can then be selected.
For privacy and security I don’t want the WordPress search Icon in the menu area to be able to access the template. I want it only searchable on the actual bookings page will eventually will be pass word protected.

I have tried to setup a Toolset search as follows Using WordPress Blocks. Page: toolset search, inserted ‘vessel info’ View, Added Search Field and Search Button.
I then tried to select the field ‘Vessel Name’ from the Field Group for Vessels Info but can’t see it.

Basically when I get it working, I want the search to be on the Divi page which I understand can be done, hidden link just below all the text at the top of page, I have just put text there at the moment. (on the site the link is on the Facilities page)

I hope you don’t mind but to make things easier below are the access details which I hope will help you understand my problem.

I appreciate it's a big ask but please feel free to log in create a test page or change my settings in Toolset etc..
Thank you
Peter

Hello,

I have checked it in your website, there isn't any custom post field "Vessel Name", I assume we are talking about the post title of "Vessels Info" posts, if it is, you can add a "Text search" box in the custom search form, see the demo page here:
hidden link

For example, search with keyword "sea":
hidden link

And it is not safe to share the website credentials publicly, I have removed them from your thread.

Hi Luo
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure what I may have done wrong? I have attached a screen grab of the search box you created, it's not correct. I would like to search by the Vessel Name and the owners name (Skipper). I understand what you have done but I want a simple display, I don't want a list of boats and the numbered boxes as shown in the screen grab attached. I tried putting a reset button on but that didn't remove all Vessel names as shown in the screen grab.
I don't want to start it again if I can help it any ideas on how to fix this problem.
Hope fully you still have the access info, if nit I can send it again.
Many thanks
Peter

I assume you are going to search into the "Vessels Info" post title + custom field "Skipper" with Toolset "Text search" box, it is possible with Relevanssi plugin, see our document:
https://toolset.com/course-lesson/searching-texts-in-custom-fields-with-toolset-and-relevanssi/

Relevanssi is a popular plugin that extends the WordPress native search capabilities as well the free text search used in Toolset custom search. It allows you to search beyond just the post title and content and find texts in custom fields.

For the new question:
I don't want a list of boats and the numbered boxes as shown in the screen grab attached.

I assume you want to display the custom search form only(without search result), after user input and click submit button, display the search result.

If it is, you can follow our document to Hide the search results until the first search:
https://toolset.com/course-lesson/creating-a-custom-search/#hide-the-search-results-until-the-first-search
section "Hide the search results until the first search"
