get taxonomy name inside archive template

is there a way to do a conditional based on if the custom taxonomy is X? I don't mean a one that belongs to the taxonomy like here - https://toolset.com/forums/topic/taxonomy-condition-display/, I mean the actual taxonomy. So that I can vary the content slightly but still use 1 archive template across multiple taxonomies.
