updates are not completed

I am having this strange issue: since a couple of days the Toolset updates on nearly all my sites are incomplete and then break the site. I have no other option than to manually upload the Types, Views and Blocks plugin over FTP. Because in the dashboard it cannot be restored.
I do not see any tickets on toolset.com that refer to it, so I was wondering what can be the cause of this? Does anybody have a clue?
It makes no difference whether it is on WP 5.8 or 5.7.2
