I am trying to: edit home page

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: /wp-admin/ home page

I expected to see: siteorigin blocks - similar to court pages

Instead, I got: Toolset stripped out the site origin editor on my home page (New issue) hidden link. Maps and Types plugins (2) fail updates. Toolset has also NEVER worked - database does not work on hidden link despite the hype and instructional videos. Primary Issue: Toolset broke my ability to edit website. Need my home page restored pre-toolset

Hi there

First, I note from your debug info that the Toolset plugins are not all up-to-date, if you could please update them to the latest versions. Then if there are problems arising from Toolset we can investigate further.

I tried to log in to your site to see if I could see the issue you raise, but the password doesn't work.

You say that Toolset has never worked, so I'm wondering if you are actually using Toolset on the site? Maybe you can just de-activate and remove Toolset in that case.

I stated that when I try to update they fail. I will update wp admin password - I just set it but did not test

Hello
Sorry about that. I restored site and maybe pw was lost.
I reset password: Di#QT2rKxPr75WrUYY@QKAW0

Toolset is installed. There is a separate issue with connecting a database.
But that was a separate issue for that last year. I need help with that too because I need database solution. Kinda funny how easy it looks in all the videos. I am hiring some help on that maybe.

THE ISSUE
But toolset has wiped out the editor on my home page and updating breaks site. I restored - this time after events calendar plugin was updated. The Site Origin issue was viewed before that a week ago or so. The home page, (like the Court Pages), are custom designed using Site Origin blocks. see COURTS pages design in admin as example to home page

Toolset plugins will not be updated - when I update it says they fail. I restored site but got 2 of the 4 updates done prior to that, but they failed even then several times. Then the home page disappeared and I restored. I never connected toolset to the home page but it seems to have corrupted

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

I've just logged-in to the admin and updated all Toolset plugins to latest version. Can you please confirm its working as expected now.

#2588331

No. I must not be explaining it properly. The updates are important, BUT were never the problem I have been describing.

1. HOME Page Problem
2. Original Building blocks on Home Page
3. Replaced with Toolset Custom Fields
4. Toolset Did this on its own
5. I cannot edit home page layout and my website look.
6. I NEVER used toolset on or associated it with home page.
7. need it reverted back to original page.

Reference: Building blocks on this page not corrupted (affected) and can be seen in admin page code here as an example of what it looked like before: hidden link

Yes - I understand but what I'm saying that we always recommend to run your site with latest Toolset plugins.

Again - I suggest, first of all, you must take full backup of your website and then maybe try to setup a staging site and there you should update the Toolset plugins and check what problems are still exists.

Then, we can check the problems if any and investigate further. There could be also chance of compatibility but we can not say anything without debugging.

?

#2588875

I think I need a different set of eyes. Anyone else able to interpret the problem?

#2590283

Thank you for waiting and Minesh has asked me to follow up on this ticket.

Reading through the messages and looking into the website's admin area, I understand that the website's homepage is showing the content from the SiteOrigin page builder on the front end. But when you open the edit screen of the home page in the admin area, it doesn't show the option to edit using the SiteOrigin page builder.
( screenshot: hidden link )

If my understanding of the issue is correct, can you please confirm if deactivating the Toolset plugins affects this? Are you able to use the SiteOrigin page builder for the home page, when Toolset plugins are deactivated?

This will help in narrowing down whether this incompatibility is between Toolset or some other plugin or theme. Once confirmed that this is caused by Toolset, we'll need your permission to download a clone/snapshot of this website, to investigate this on a different server.

I hope this helps and let me know how it goes.

Toolset associated itself with HOME PG, not sure how. It stripped out the SUGA theme editor, and replaced with line by line custom fields tied to toolset. Not sure it is a site origin problem, so I have the other people (theme developer) looking at it today and I will update within next 2 days when I hear back from them. Thanks for your help.

#2595441

ALSO - I will place a copy of website on Wpengine (my host) staging server for troubleshooting .
You have my permission to download website using current site and SFTP credentials - I will also set up NEW credentials on staging server for both admin and SFTP and send when done.

Thank you for sharing this update.

I'll wait to hear back the theme developer's input.
