Tell us what you are trying to do?
This isn't really an 'issue' but more of a question.

I have a client with a simple membership system that was built years ago. I want to redo their site in WordPress using Toolset and WPML. I have existing licenses to both but don't have room for another site. Is it possible to use Toolset and WPML on a staging site to see if I can accomplish what I need to, before purchasing additional licenses?

Is there any documentation that you are following?
NA
Is there a similar example that we can see?
NA
What is the link to your site?
Existing site is in HTML/PHP/Javascript and is not multilingual. hidden link
I want to build a new version of this site and pay for additional Toolset and WPML licenses if I'm able to achieve what I need in WordPress.

Thank you!

Jim

Hi Jim,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

You can manually download ( https://toolset.com/account/downloads/ ) and install the Toolset and WPML plugins, on as many staging websites, as needed.
( ref: https://toolset.com/faq/how-to-install-and-register-toolset/#registering-toolset-in-a-development-environment )

The license/registration is required only for the automatic plugin update feature to work. On those staging websites, you can update the plugins, manually.

I hope this helps and let me know if you need further assistance.

regards,
Waqar

Thank you so much Waqar. I will try this.

I'm a bit concerned about Toolset in the long term though. How is the future looking??

It's hard to commit large projects to Toolset when things seem up in the air.

Thanks for writing back.

As announced in our blog post ( https://toolset.com/2022/06/whats-next-for-toolset/ ), the development of new features for the Toolset plugins has been paused.

But as a product, we don't have any plans to discontinue it. It will continue to receive support and updates related to security, compatibility, and bug/fixes.

For any project where you need the features that Toolset already offers, you can use it will full confidence.
