[Resolved] Split: Is "View" obseleted; multiple filter in a row in archive page – how to add custom search field in one raw
This support ticket is created 4 years, 8 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.
This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.
Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.
In my Toolset account page->Download->Toolset plugins tab, It has Toolset types and Toolset Blocks. In Legacy plugins tab it has Toolset Views and ToolSet Layouts. And They are under the label "Toolset plugins for older sites, created with shortcodes and Layouts".
1. Does it mean that it is not supposed to be used if my website is running the latest WordPress? Before I purchase Toolset I tried your demo of cooking recipe site, it has View under Toolset menu in wp admin page.
2. If View isn't supposed to be used in newly built website, How can I create a custom type archive without using view? Base on your video tutorial, it uses view under the "WordPress Archive Loop" block in archive page.
3. This question doesn't relate to the above question. In custom type archive page, it can add multiple search field. Can these search fields, search button and reset button placed in a row? If yes, please guide me how to do it. Currently I only can place one element in a row.
Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
You can simple add a column block and add as many columns as you want and then to each column you should add your desired search field or submit and Reset button respectively.
For instance, if you want to add only one filter with submit and Reset button, you should add column block with three column and to each column you should add one thing (search filter and submit button and reset button) respectively.
Do you mean the column block from wp? yes I did it. I tried to add a 3 column block, inside the block I add a radio custom field. I opened it from front end. I don't see this field appear.
And I want to add a field as serach filter, not just simply display it. I think it behave differently from adding a field from "add search field".
Can you please share problem URL and access details so I can check whats going on with your site.
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
This is how I've added the columns block and added the search filer to each column. You can modify or adjust that as per your requirement.
