Problem:
A View has filter controls. How to show the matching number of posts against the controls?
Solution:
When inserting the filter there is an option for format, where you can add the %%COUNT%% placeholder. See screenshot in reply below.

When you insert a filter in a View one of the display options is for format, where you can use the placeholder %%COUNT%% to display the number of matching posts (see screenshot).
That will add a format argument to the filter control shortcode: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/views-shortcodes/#wpv-control-post-taxonomy
