[Resolved] Some other questions

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

Would you recommend using the default First Name/Last Name from WordPress or creating these in Toolset? Also, how can I add a frontend red star for required fields?

Solution:

By default, the First Name/Last Name fields from WordPress are not required fields, so in Toolset form they are not required fields.

Thank you for this! It's been really helpful.

Q1 - Fixed, thanks!

Q2 - I've done this part, but I would like all such restricted downloads belonging to a user role to appear on one single page for easy access. Please advise the best way of how to achieve this.

Q3 - Shelved for the time being.

Q4 - Fixed - thanks! Would you recommend using the default First Name/Last Name from WordPress or creating these in Toolset? Also, how can I add a frontend red star for required fields?

One last question please regarding blog posts - how can I set up restricted members only blog posts?

Thanks in advance.
Anthony

Dear Anthony,

Q4) By default, the First Name/Last Name fields from WordPress are not required fields, so in Toolset form they are not required fields.

So you can create other new user fields, setup "Validation" option as: "Required", put them into your registration form, then they will be required fields with "red star"

For the question: how can I set up restricted members only blog posts?

You can try with "Access Groups", for example:
1) Dashboard-> Toolset-> Access Control
enable option "Managed by Access" for post type "Posts"
2) follow our document to setup the "Access Groups" for those specific posts

Thanks again for this!

I have created a new post category for members only.

I have set up the restrictions on the actual blog posts, but the blog category page - with post previews - is still appearing to non-members (even though you can't view the post itself). How can I prevent this, please? Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you!

This is abnormal, please check these:
1) You are using the latest version of Toolset plugins, you can download them here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2019, and test again

3) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, also point out the problem page URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks
