I am trying to:

Delete custom fields in a custom post type then add the same field to another custom post type.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

N/A - I changed the slug to one that hasn't been used

I expected to see:

I expected to be able to use the slug I had before in the first custom post type since it was deleted.

Instead, I got:

I got an error message saying that the slug time was already in use.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

When you remove the custom field from your custom field group, it will not remove the custom field from the system.

To remove the custom field completely, you need to go to: Toolset => Cusomt Fields => Click on the button "Post Field Control" => Find your filed and Delete it. Once deleted, it will allow you to create a new custom field with the same field slug.

Thanks for the explanation. However, could this be implemented without two steps? Or perhaps at least a redirect to the "Post Field Control"? Seems like a low hanging fruit to me. 😉
