I just want to add a simple sidebar widget view to show the most recently added businesses to my directory and the types. I am using blocks for editing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or advise please.

Hello, if you want to create a View ad hoc without building it in a page or post, you must enable the Legacy editing experience in Toolset > Settings > General > Editing Experience. You can keep the Block editor enabled as well if you'd like both options. Then you'll have the ability to go to Toolset > Views to create a standalone View. Once you've built your View, you can insert it in a Widget using a View shortcode in a custom HTML widget, or by using a Toolset View Widget.

That's just a general overview. I'm happy to share more details if you need more guidance at any of the steps along the way.
