It seems to clear me from the problems I'm experiencing and the number of other issues I've see published on the support forum that the latest updates to Access 2.4, CRED 1.9, Types 2.2.11 and Views 2.4.0 are a bit of a disaster.

PLEASE set the previous versions of these plugins as the defaults at WordPress until you get the issues sorted properly so that endusers aren't comprising security or SEO or running sites that aren't functioning correctly.

Until this latest update, I've been of the opinion that Toolset is a great product and I've been a great fan of it. That's beginning to change and I think it has alot to do with you trying to be all things to all men. That's something you'll never achieve. Just concentrate on creating/maintaining a quality, solid set of plugins that work. Right now, they don't.

I apologise you are having issues with Toolset.

if you can point me to the tickets you opened I can look into them.

We are having remarkably less BUG issues with this release.

We cannot change the stable versions. These are working fine, with the exceptions of BUGs that I know of (mainly related to Access).

These we are fixing ASAP and are actively working on them.

It is always recommended to backup the site before an update, or to deploy it first on a staging site.
Then you can report to us and we will fix the issues ASAP.

This would avoid to bring down a Live Site.

I saw this ticket here:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/new-method-of-creating-post-edit-link-in-cred-version-1-9-not-working/

This is not a BUG.
A CRED Edit Form Link is this:

[toolset-edit-post-link content_template_slug="cred"]Edit %%POST_TITLE%%[/toolset-edit-post-link]

This is a Post Edit link that will lead to the Backend, it has nothing to do with CRED:

[wpv-post-edit-link text="Amend"]

I see Noman is assisting you there with the issue, if you need more help there, please do let me know.

If you need to roll back, you can download previous Toolset Versions in your Toolset Account > Downloads > Changelog.

I hope I did not miss anything of your query.

Hi Beda

Thank you for explaining the difference between the two shortcodes. I'm trying to do what you recommend in your 6th paragraph - that's why I'm using my test/development site before updating my live site.

Something went completely awry with my installation whilst Noman and I were trying to sort out the issue I reported on the ticket you mention. So I nuked that site (it's my test/development site so it doesn't matter) and have just finished reinstalling wordpress and toolset plugins. I've created one post type, 1 post group, 5 post fields, 1 post form (create & edit versions) and a View to display all posts with just the post title and the CRED edit form link (this format: [toolset-edit-post-link content_template_slug="cred"]Amend[/toolset-edit-post-link]). On the frontend, I only see the post title (no edit link).

This is SO frustrating.

I'll raise a new ticket with the above in it. Once I know who will be dealing with it, I'll add that person as an administrator so they can look at it.

Thanks
