Why repeating fields should not be used in child posts? Could you please explain.

There is exact same topics about "Repeating fields should not be used in child posts. Types will update all field values.", but without clear explanation of such warning.

1) It is crystal clear about what is the warning (to not use 'repeater fields' in child forms).
2) From topics looks that it can be used, but only from Dashboard (not CRED).

So, please just be more clear about it - can it be used or not?
Also additional explanation will not 'hurt'.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

1) It is crystal clear about what is the warning (to not use 'repeater fields' in child forms).
==> Yes - you can not use it repeating fields in child forms as well as within the post relationship box.

2) From topics looks that it can be used, but only from Dashboard (not CRED).
==> Please check this screenshot:
hidden link

As the warning message displayed in the screenshot, Repeating fields should not be used in child posts. Types will update all field.

please try hide the repeating fields in the "fields table" section of the parent post. and edit each child post, set it's custom repeating field value.

Try to follow following steps:
1) Edit your parent post type
2) Scroll down to the Post relationship section and click Edit for Children
3) Here you will see a link Edit fields

Here you can select what fields will be editable in the parent post type. Just make sure that you dont include any repeating field there. It doesn't work for repeating fields.

So - basically, you should not use repeating fields with your post relationship box while editing the parent post edit page as well as on CRED child forms. This is known limitation and expected behavior.
