I am trying to: set relationships between post types, but according to the page a migration is needed because my site has relationships that use the old storage (this still happens although I deleted all posts and fields...). The migration process starts and immediately ends with the following error:

> Post relationships migration started.
> Couldn't write to the ".maintenance" file.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugins (same error). I contacted wordpress.com for help with this, they say WordPress.com does not allow changing server permissions for the root folder, so nothing I can do.

How do I get to the relationships page?

Hi Paula,

Thank you for contacting us and I'll be happy to assist.

Even when the old post relationships are not needed, it is recommended to complete the relationships migration process, for consistency.

In case your current host ( WordPress.com ) doesn't allow write access to the WordPress' default ".maintenance" file, you can use any cloning/migration plugin to first migrate your website to a different online or a localhost and complete the migration process there.

After that, you can migrate the updated website, back to the original host ( WordPress.com ).

Following are some popular plugins for cloning/migration:

- Duplicator ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/ )
- All-in-One WP Migration ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/ )

I hope this helps.

regards,
Waqar
